T-Shirt Design Contest

THE INFO
 • Open to: Individuals or business (provided however that some prizes may applicable only to winners in North America)
• Limit: Each contestant can submit up to three designs per category.
• Judges: RMAD staff and board, and select members and volunteers.
• Exemptions from contest: RMAD staff, board and contest judges.
• Awards: Winning designs (first prized winners in each category) will be publicized and advertised for sale in select RMAD electronic and print publications. Non-winning designs may be solicited for use in other RMAD projects but at the discretion of the artist.
• Submissions: Submit all designs to tshirtcontest@rmad.org.


THE DESIGNS
We’ll be choosing two winners: one for the “RMAD Shirt” category and one for the “Advocacy Message Shirt” category.

• The “RMAD Shirt” must incorporate the RMAD logo (available as a high-res download here), or elements of the logo, or the spirit of the logo, and must use the phrase “Rocky Mountain Animal Defense,” but is otherwise open to creative interpretation.

• The “Advocacy Message Shirt” must be related to some aspect of RMAD’s work – animal rights, animals and the environment, animal liberation, prairie wildlife, vegetarianism (veganism), animals in entertainment, vivisection, etc., and must include “RMAD” or “Rocky Mountain Animal Defense” on the shirt. PRIZES (subject to change, meaning we're adding more as they come)
• First prize (RMAD Shirt Design): One year’s supply of ice cream from Purely Decadent/Soy Delicious/Turtle Mountain (26 pints), $100 gift certificate from Vegan Essentials and a one-year subscription to VegNews
• First prize (Advocacy Message Shirt Design): One year’s supply of vegan ice cream from Purely Decadent/Soy Delicious/Turtle Mountain (26 pints), $75 gift certificate from Cruelty-Free World and a one-year subscription to VegNews
• Second prize: $50 gift certificate to Vegan Essentials, $25 gift certificate to Cruelty-Free World, and a one-year subscription VegNews
• Third prize: $50 gift certificate to Moo Shoes and a one-year subscription to Vegnews
• One or two honorable mentions: Subscription to VegNews

LEGAL
Entry into the contest indicates contestant agreements to the following: 1. Rocky Mountain Animal Defense (RMAD) shall have the exclusive right and license to the winning design (first place in each category) for printing and selling on clothing to support our work. RMAD also has the right and license to the design itself for use on RMAD’s website and in any RMAD promotional material. At RMAD’s discretion, artist credit will be printed with the artwork. 2. Except for the right and license granted above, participants will keep ownership of their submitted designs; provided, however, RMAD shall retain title to and all rights in its trademarks, including the names “Rocky Mountain Animal Defense,” the acronym “RMAD” and the RMAD logo. Participants may display or archive their designs in a portfolio or personal collection, but may not sell or reproduce the design for commercial purposes. 3. The artwork must be the participant's own original work and may not have been previously published. Artwork may not contain the trademarks, logos, copyrighted works or intellectual property of any third parties, or any material which RMAD in its sole discretion deems to be profane or offensive. 4. The winning designs may be reworked by professional designers to prepare it for use. All such designs shall be the sole property of RMAD. 5. Participants who, in the opinion of RMAD, do not comply with these guidelines can at any time be excluded from the contest without notification of reason.
