A big thank you to all our supporters who attended the best Dining Out Day yet at WaterCourse Foods. Old friends, new friends and everyone in between (even some folks from the Stock Show) came out to support our fifth annual event. An extra special huge thank you to owner Dan Landes, general manager Dan Hanley, the gracious and accommodating WaterCourse staff, and our RMAD volunteers.
When Dan Hanley isn’t organizing fundraisers for local non-profits, running his all-vegan store, or running the biggest, busiest and best vegetarian restaurant around, he’s organizing this year’s awesome Denver Veg Fest. Tickets are now on sale at WaterCourse Foods and online at RMAD’s Web store. Tickets are $10, with two other options: a reduced price for those who need assistance and a $20 price for those who would like to sponsor a ticket for another attendee.
Ryan Andrews has answered the latest batch of questions about nutrition, health, fitness and more. Check out Ask Ryan!, and be sure to submit your questions.
The media was buzzing this week with news about S.H.A.R.K.’s video footage of animals being shocked into performance at this year’s National Western Stock Show. RMAD was able to help out by supplying some historical video footage of our own, which we hope will aid S.H.A.R.K. in their upcoming videos about cruelty at stock shows, rodeos and more. Be sure to check out their videos and also our site, StockShowInfo.com
There has been very little attendance at Stock Show demos the last couple of years, so we hoped to try something different this time around; still there was little interest, and an event didn’t come together. Much of staff time is devoted to supporting the framework that is already in place, whether it be maintaining our many Web sites, staying up to date with general operations, supporting the public’s needs for help, completing the projects that have been funded through grants and special donations, attending meetings and giving talks... and so much more. When demo season arrives in autumn, we’ll once again be ready to take on the tasks of organizing these events, and we hope you’ll be part of the planning and execution.
We utilize eNews to communicate what staff, board and volunteers are accomplishing. RMAD eNews are archived here so you can browse through past editions and keep track of our progress.
As always, feel free to talk to staff about your concerns. You may e-mail Lynne Sprague, Executive Director, or Christopher Jones, Operations Director, or call us at 303-449-4422. We want to hear from you.

Volunteer Opportunities
Humane education speakers: RMAD's Humane Education Speakers Bureau is a network of volunteers who deliver talks to school groups, social clubs, churches and other organizations. Potential speakers will be provided with training (to be offered in both Denver and Boulder). You can fill out this form to get started.
Letter writers: We’ve assembled a team of letter writers to address issues in the local ( Colorado) media. As need s arise, we will send out a form e-mail that includes the pertinent media, names and addresses, tips, background information, etc.—making it as easy as possible for you to lend your voice on behalf of animals.
Check out RMAD’s online volunteer form and let us know about yourself and where your interests lie.
